Gary R. Erb, President
Gary joined the Steffy organization in 1997 and is the firm's President in charge of all activities including sales, estimating and operations. He has been in the steel industry his entire professional career and started as an apprentice draftsman in 1980. Gary has very high standards for providing the customer with quality service and
a quality product. He strives for complete customer satisfaction on each and every project. He holds a degree in Structural Design and Civil Engineering from Penn State University.
James W. Bell, Vice President of Finance
Jim joined the Steffy team in 1998 and is the firm's Vice President of Finance. He is in charge of all aspects of the accounting functions and insurance requirements for the company. Jim attended Penn State University and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Jim's meticulous attention to details and excellent record keeping has
been a tremendous asset to the company.
Peter G. Myket, Vice President of Operations
Pete joined Ira G. Steffy & Son in 2003 and is another well-seasoned veteran in the steel business. Pete started out as a steel detailer in 1984 and has held various positions throughout his career in the steel industry. His current position within the company is Vice President of Operations. Pete oversees all aspects of the miscellaneous metals department and is becoming more involved with the day to day operations of the structural division. He does an excellent job juggling the daily challenges he faces in this fast paced business. He is a graduate of Thaddeus Stevens College with a degree in Architectural Technology.
Richard L. Purnell, Vice President of Construction
Rick joined the Steffy organization in 2002 and brought with him over 30 years of experience in the steel business. His day to day involvement is in project management and he has been a valuable asset to the company as our Vice President of Construction. Rick is a graduate of Williamsport Area Community College with a degree in Architectural Technology. He is always ready for that next project regardless of how large or complex. He always has a well made plan for each new challenge and will do what is necessary to carry out that plan.
Scott E. Kemeter, Structural Steel Project Manager
Scott joined the Steffy team in 2011 as a Structural Steel Project Manager. He began his career in the steel business back in 1980 as a welder/fitter for a welding shop before being promoted to shop foreman in 1982. With his extensive knowledge of understanding shop drawings and metals fabrication, Scott was promoted to Project Manager in 2005 and has been excelling in that role ever since. Scott enjoys the unique challenges of each project he manages and takes pride in providing our customers with the great customer service they expect and deserve. Scott is a welcomed addition to our team with his expansive knowledge in all aspects of the steel business.
Kent Bitzer, Project Manager
Kent joined the Steffy organization in 2014 as a Project Manager. He started his career as a structural steel estimator, then Project Manager and eventually project management supervisor prior to joining our team. He believes proactive planning and a thorough review process can minimize mistakes made on projects and provide a higher level of service and quality to our customers which will differentiate our company in a challenging industry. Kent holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from Drexel University.
Raleigh Osborne, Chief Estimator
Raleigh Joined the Steffy Team in 2013 as our Chief Estimator. Raleigh brings with him over 30 years of experience in the structural steel, miscellaneous metals and general construction industry. We are confident that you will find his experience and level of professionalism to be a tremendous benefit. Customer satisfaction is Steffy’s number one priority and we feel Raleigh will allow us to continue this mission each and every day.
Denton Brown, Structural Steel Estimator
Denny joined Steffy in 1986 as a Draftsman and his outstanding work ethic and attention to detail have been critical to his success as a Structural Steel Estimator. Denny has spent his entire career in the steel industry. Denny takes great pride in providing our customers with an accurate, timely bid proposal and works closely with our Project Management team to get each and every project off to a successful start.
Ted H. Leash, Misc. Metals Project Manager
Ted joined the Steffy team in 2014 as a Miscellaneous Metals Project Manager. He began his career in the steel business back in 1986 as a welder/fabricator for a small welding shop. During his 28 years there, he held several positions including Field Installer, Shop Foreman, and Project Manager as the company continued to grow. He is a welcomed addition to our team with his expansive knowledge in all aspects of the Miscellaneous Metals business.
Rick Croft, Corporate Administrator
Rick joined the Steffy Team in 2012 as our Corporate Administrator in charge of all areas of Human Resources and the Ira G. Steffy Safety Program. Rick has extensive experience in Emergency Services, Rescue, and EMT Training as well as Commercial/Industrial Safety background and is a Nationally Certified Rope Rescue Technician. Rick is currently the President of the LCISC (Lancaster County Industrial Safety Council) and has spent several years as a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors Safety Committee.
Mike Fox, Shop Supervisor
Mike has been with Ira G. Steffy & Son since 1985 and has been the Shop Supervisor since 2005. He genuinely cares about each new project and does whatever it takes to get the steel fabricated on time and without
any errors. His duties involve overseeing the fabrication operations, which also includes shipping and receiving
duties. Mike does a great job juggling the various projects we have being processed each and every week, while
also dealing with revisions and changes to delivery schedules. His positive demeanor and hard work ethic has
been a tremendous asset to the company over the years.
Jeff Gehman, Field Superintendant
Jeff is the current longest tenured Steffy employee, having joined the Steffy team in 1979 after he had graduated from WTTI with a degree in welding. He began his career with Steffy as an Ironworker and was promoted to Assistant Field Superintendant in 1996. Throughout his career here at Steffy’s, Jeff has overseen the construction of numerous multi-story office buildings, industrial buildings, warehouses and distribution centers. Jeff was promoted to Field Superintendant in 2015 and is responsible for working with our field crews and our customers to ensure that our customer’s schedules are being met by properly staffing and equipping each and every project for which he is responsible.
Archer Morgan, Field Superintendant
Archer has been working in the construction industry since 1988, becoming an iron worker in 1993, before joining the Steffy Team in 1995. He began his career with Steffy as an Ironworker and was promoted to field foreman in 1996. During his last nearly 20 years as a field foreman, Archer has led various crews in the construction of numerous multi-story buildings, various warehouses, cold storage facilities and distribution centers. With the recent growth of our company and with the expansion of the territory which we now serve, Archer was promoted to Field Superintendant in 2015. In his new role as Field Superintendant, Archer is responsible for working with our field crews and our customers to ensure that our customer’s schedules are being met by properly staffing and equipping each and every project for which he is responsible. Archer has enjoyed the new challenges that have come along with this new position and looks forward to serving all Steffy customers and maintaining our commitment to complete customer satisfaction.
